On 11 November 2011, WWII British and Commonwealth reenactors laid a wreath at the Ellis County Courthouse in
honor of
Lt.-Col. Reginald "Rex" Fendick CD, a CANLOAN officer who served with both the 6th KOSB and
Middlesex (MG) Regiments during the Second World War (1939-45).  From left to right:

We were honored to be joined at the event by new member, Anne-Marie
Berglund
, commander Le Group Rochambelles, French Ambulance
Drivers and Nurses who saved Allied servicemen from D-Day to
Bertchesgarden.  Anne-Marie, a native of Paris, France, set up a most
impressive display of equipment, historical photos, uniform items and a map
documenting
The Rochambelles route through wartorn Europe - including a
stop in Nancy, France, the battle being reenacted today!  Anne-Marie's
family has deep roots in the French military since before the First World War
(1914-1918).

Canandian WWII personnel wore both Canadian
and British-wartime manufacture battledress (BD).
Here, SSG Kilgore is dressed in a British WWII
BD, complete with RCAF wings, NCOs chevrons
and associated Canadian insignia.  Note the
RAF-blue Field Service (FS) Cap with RCAF
buttons, RAF (blue) webbing and the ubiquitous
enhacement for the notable pilot:  the ever present
pipe for a quick smoke before departing
on a sortie.

An incredible photograph taken by one of the
WWII 'pool photographers' that invaded
Waxahachie along with reenactors (our
sincere
thanks
to all photographers who came down and
captured history, one frame at a time).

(Left) A fantastic study of the "poor bloody
infantry" (albeit without 3-day beard growth, dirt,
grime and sweat) in Northwest Europe, post
D-Day in France, July 1944.  What did the
standard British infantryman carry?

*  British WWII Mk. II "tin hat" (helmet)
* British WWII Battledress (BD) Jacket.
* Standard British WWII Pattern 37 webbing.
* No. 4 Mk. 1 .303 turnbolt rifle.
* camouflage scarf (around neck).

Insignia on both arms consists of a swatch of
Leslie tartan (worn on top), denoting the King's
Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB), the 15th
Scottish Division "Lion Rampant" divisional patch,
a red arm of service strip and on the cuff - one
good conduct chevron, denoting three years of
good service without "going on charge."
