KOSB WWII VETERAN JOE HUNT

Remembering KOSB Veterans who served ...
KOSB WWII Veteran Joe Hunt served in King's Own Scottish Borderers (KOSB) in Northwest Europe (1944-45) and
later in Palestine (1946-49).  We connected with Joe several years ago and he has been most gracious to donate several CD's
to us on the Minden Day Parade, KOSB music (pipe music and brass band) and has talked with us about his time in service.
and he also sends us photos of his travels.  We will be featuring a monthly installment of Joe's travels around the UK (and the
US!) in future issues.  Joe recently took part in the Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the Cenotaph in London.  Here are his
    photos:

Proudly wearing his medals and the red poppy, here is Joe with an officer of the Ghurka Rifles.
Ghurka's love the KOSB!

This was another photo Joe sent us showing the unique bond between Ghurka and Scot.  2nd Bn.,
KOSB fought with many Ghurka battalions as part of
7th (Indian) Infantry Division during the
'Battle of the Admin Box' [ see
website ], 5-23 February 1944 where Scottish infantry and
Ghurka riflemen repelled repeated Japanese assaults on British positions - a tenuous situation
during the Burma Campaign.  A strong bond has always existed between the Ghuka's and KOSB
and this photo is evidence of that unbroken kinship by fellow warriors.
